Renditions for Specific Assets

Easily adjust the focal point for different file types and formats of an asset. This ensures that the most important parts of your images are always perfectly framed.

Mandatory Asset Expiry

Admins can require users to set expiry dates for all assets, whether uploaded directly to the Library or pushed from tasks. This ensures your content is always current, strengthens brand governance, and simplifies compliance.

New Library Permissions

The 'Edit' role is now broken down into five more specific permissions, for greater control and flexibility across teams. Admins can now grant access for individual actions, such as:

1. Archiving assets
2. Deleting assets, folders, or connections
3. Editing assets and managing versions
4. Updating asset metadata (titles, fields, tags, expiry dates, etc.)
5. Organizing and sharing assets & folders

Usage Reporting

Usage reporting is available for admins to gain insight into who is using CMP, better understand patterns, boost usage, and to ensure compliance with company policy.​

Activity Reporting

Activity Reporting provides a time-stamped log of user actions across CMP, including edits, status updates, assignments, and workflow changes.​

This gives you an audit trail that enhances visibility, supports compliance, and enables teams to troubleshoot or trace decisions.​

Opal Settings

Settings for Opal will be pulled out of Content Marketing Platform Settings and made accessible via the product switcher in a shared, common interface, allowing customers easily create and use custom agents.

• Build custom agents
• Create agent workflows

Industry Marketer Agent

Need specific expertise for content across different industries but don't have the bandwidth to train or budget to hire?

The Industry Marketer Agent will:

• Intake a set of general content provided by the user
• Spin up industry-specific landing pages, blog posts, and more with a targeted approach to specific industries (e.g. healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, etc.

Market Research Agent

Opal will be able to conduct deep and adaptive research on a specified topic, resulting in a comprehensive, detailed report with suggestions for campaigns.

By typing @research in Opal Chat, the agent will be initiated and will guide you through a series of questions about the topic for research. Then sit back, relax and Opal will do the hard work (research) for you.

Video Transcription Agent

No need to use separate tools for video transcription.

Simply initiate the agent by typing @transcribe in Opal Chat, upload your video, and it will provide you with a transcript or subtitle file—in seconds (and in different languages)!

Meeting Analysis Agent

This agent will create a campaign based on the transcript or recording from a meeting (yes, it will even take into account what was shown on screen!). That means no manual setup required: just supply the transcription or recording and get right to campaign execution.

AI Campaign Kits

Use Opal to create an entire on-brand campaign—in minutes, including:

• Campaign creation
• Campaign brief generation
• Tasks for executing each element of the campaign (complete with briefs!)
• On-brand content generation, including omnichannel long form content and social posts

Efficiency Dashboards

New custom dashboards will answer key operational reporting questions, like:

• Where are we "stuck" (based on fields, e.g. content type)?
• How much content have we produced for X audience or channel?
• What's our on-time performance for a particular piece of content?

• Ensure better metadata management by making specific fields mandatory to be completed on tasks and assets before they're pushed to Library
• When a new version of an asset is added to Library, existing URLs for renditions stay the same and are updated with the latest version automatically
• New Library asset expiration notification options provide the choice to be notified 1, 7, 30, 60 and/or 90 days before an asset is set to expire

AI Translations

Within the Omnichannel Editor, marketers are able to choose Opal to translate content into different languages with the click of a button—making globalization easier than ever.

• Locale analytics: Users will be able to view analytics for different locales.
• Deactivate Field Values: Users can make field values inactive so they can't be selected, but historical data will remain intact.
• Creative Asset FIelds: Make sure that all assets have the righ fields, even in work requests. Requesters will be able to assign asset-specific fields on each asset in their work request submission, so those working with the content in tasks have the information to action, approve and store.
• List View in Library: Visualize your assets in a list view.

Social Posting to Instagram

Using the Omnichannel Editor, users can now create (and preview!) posts for Instagram, then schedule them to publish. Coming soon: LinkedIn posting! 

Update to Business Calendar

We recently released Business Calendar, allowing admins to set organization-wide holidays and weekends to ensure work isn't assigned on non-working days. With the latest update, users now can submit and track their personal PTO requests, providing more transparency so work doesn't slip through the cracks. 

UX Delights

• Updates to Asset Picker: For customers using Library (DAM) with Optimizely CMS, we've made it easy to add new assets and generate images with AI directly from the DAM Asset Picker in your CMS instance. 
• Generate Image from "Add" Button in Library: Users will be able to quickly generate an image using AI directly in Library without the need for creating a task.
• Deactivate Field Values: Users can make field values inactive so they can't be selected, but historical data will remain intact.

Platform UI Updates

We're making a few tweaks to modernize CMP's interface and make it easier to view your work:

• Collapse and expand buttons will be made available on the navigation bar, giving you the option to widen your view of what you're working on
• Increased viewport width of pages and non-sticky headers in Plan and Library modules will give you more space to view your work, upcoming plans, and saved assets
• Previously, instance names were in the dashboard section. Now they will be located at the top of the left navigation panel to easily view. Long names will be truncated, but can be viewed in a tooltip.
• To make it more obvious on how to filter, we'll be removing the current funnel icon and adding a new filter button located to the right of the search bar in Plan, Work Request and Library modules

Updates to Settings for Omnichannel Content

You may have noticed some minor changes to the content model templates area in Settings. We're making it even easier to find, edit and create new content models for all your omnichannel needs. What's changed? We've added pagination, descriptions and made associated images visible in the repository, as well as given the ability to sort by title, duplicate api identifiers and set models as active or inactive.

For better transparency around team availability, admins will have the ability to set company-wide schedules, ensuring everyone is aware of non-working days. Employees can also seamlessly submit and track their PTO requests.

UX Delights

• Video Streaming: Videos stored in Library can now be played within your browser via the public link (instead of being auto-downloaded). Just check off "Video streaming from URL" in Asset Management Settings. Learn more.
• Field Groups: Users can create templates for field groups so the fields will automatically populate when the applicable template is chosen (e.g. if a user chooses Asset template, the pre-defined asset fields will automatically be shown, as pictured below). Learn more.
• Pin Content in Task: Tasks are often filled with multiple pieces of content—whether they're resources, drafts or examples—making it difficult to know which asset is being worked on. Users can now highlight an asset by pinning it: Just click on the ellipses menu on the piece of content and choose "Pin Content." Learn more.
• Editing Tasks: We've introduced more flexibility so users can now apply any task template to the task during editing, with all changes reflected in the History tab. Learn more.
• Rich Text Comments: Add a little *spice* to your feedback in CMP with rich text. Your comments can now be bolded, underlined, italicized, hyperlinked, or highlighted. Add emojis, bullets, and numbered points or change text color to make comments easier to visualize (or, just for fun). Learn more.

As an ongoing improvement of Optimizely’s service status dashboard, we are now introducing Content Marketing Platform services notifications! Going forward, the real-time information of the Optimizely service Content Marketing Platform (CMP) will be available at status.optimizely.com.

If you would like to subscribe to notifications for specific service component(s) use the subscribe button on the top right of the Optimizely status page.

From and including June 25, 2024, the former Newscred (Welcome) status page web address http://status.newscred.com/ will be redirected to status.optimizely.com and status.newscred.com will be sunset.

CMS + CMP Publishing Integration

For customers with CMP and Optimizely CMS 12, this integration offers a more streamlined approach for marketers to manage the content production lifecycle of their CMS pages by taking advantage of tasks and workflows in CMP.

Library Homepage Revamp

We're enhancing Library's functionality with a better way to visualize assets. In the new Category View, assets are organized by file type (folders, images, articles and documents). Additional updates include folder previews and improved thumbnail images, making it easier for marketers to find and reuse content.

Bring Your Own AI

Users can now connect their own AI models to CMP to power content generated by Optimizely's AI assistant, Opal. This ensures that Opal is providing output based on the data, brand guidelines and tone of voice that the AI provider has been trained on, making it easier for marketers to create on-brand content and campaigns.

Edit Campaign Templates

Campaign Templates can now be edited by those with access to the Templates page in Settings. Users can also enable placeholder tasks within Settings to further build out the templates. The templates can be deleted or copied, making it easy (and fast) to create variations of a specific template.

The revamped WordPress integration uses new APIs for enhanced security and performance, and supports both standard and custom post types. • Set asset expiry in a Task: Within a Task, users will be able to conveniently assign expiration dates to content directly below the asset. Learn more
• Timeline View enhancement: To improve visualization in the Timeline View of the Plan module, campaign titles will be shown above the timeline bars. Learn more

Brand Templates

Brand Templates empowers even the least design-savvy marketers to customize assets in minutes, while ensuring everything is on brand.
 
When creating templates, designers can lock specific elements so only certain components can be edited by other users. This helps to ensure consistent branding and compliance, and gives time back to designers to develop new materials rather than reworking existing assets.

In our December release, Brand Templates will be able to be accessed from the Task in the Add Content dropdown. Users will also be able to create a template from scratch in the Task (Admins, Creator roles, and any custom role with a "Manage Template" permission).

Instead of bumping out the due date or archiving work when priorities change, users will be able to change Task statuses to On Hold, then pick the work back up when time allows.

Users will have greater control when organizing DAM (Library) assets, with the ability to customize and create their own Asset Fields.
